- In the Middelheim Museum you pay cashless in the shop. We accept Bancontact, Mastercard, Maestro, VISA and V PAY.
Opening times
The museum is open every day of the week, except Monday. It is exceptionally open on Easter Monday and on Whit Monday.
The museum’s opening hours depend on the season. You can find the exact times below. Visitors are admitted until 30 minutes before closing time but are requested to leave the art park in good time as the gates are shut punctually. The indoor venues close one hour before closing time.
Opening times art park:
- October to March: from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- April: from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- May to August: from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
- September: from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The museum is closed on the following public holidays: 1 January, 1 May, Ascension Day, 1 November, 25 December.
The art park is closed in stormy weather.
Getting there
Public transport
The Middelheim Museum is easily accessible by train, tram and bus. The De Lijn route planner will show you the way. Tip: enter ‘Middelheim Park’ as the destination.
By bike
You can easily get to the museum by bike. There is a bike park at the three main entrances.
By car
- On the Antwerp ring road, take the Berchem or Wilrijk exit
- Free parking in Beukenlaan, about 300 m walk.
Accessibility
Plans and signage
The art park has nine entrance gates. Extensive signage has been put up in all the areas of the art park. The signs guide to you to the various pavilions and the castle. There are floor plans with an overview plan of the art park at the three main entrances.
Wifi
We offer free Wi-Fi in most areas of the art park.
Babies and small children
There is a changing table for babies on the courtyard near the castle and in the collection pavilion.
Less mobile visitors
There is a toilet for less mobile visitors on the courtyard near the castle. The museum makes available two wheelchairs upon request. To be booked before your visit with the museum desk (+ 32 3 288 33 60).
Park regulations
You may not touch the artworks in the Middelheim Museum Park because this can damage the works.
Visitors of the Middelheim Park must adhere to the park regulations that apply to all Antwerp parks. The rules are clear and evident to people who respect nature, their surroundings and other people.

What we are doing to ensure a safe environment
- Lockers in the castle and in the collection pavilion can be used.
- The park gates will be opened fully for ease of access.
- The capacity of the interior spaces is limited. Keep in mind that you have to wait a while if it is too busy.
- The museum has a strict hygiene plan. Please give the cleaning employees space and time to perform their work.
The following precautions must be taken as a minimum
General
- Maintain a social distance of 1.5 m.
- Cough and sneeze into the inside of your elbow.
- Wash your hands before and after your visit.
- If you’re feeling unwell: return home.
- Follow the advice of our museum staff.
In the art park
- Follow the rules for meetings.
- Do not return paper plans after your visit.
At the indoor venues
- Mouth masks are no longer compulsory, but are recommended at crowded places.
- Follow the established route and keep distance.
- Carry bags and backpacks on your front or use the lockers at the collection pavilion.
- Do not put back paper guides after your visit.
- Do not stay waiting at the exit.
- A limited number of people are allowed in the indoor locations. Please take into account that you may have to wait if it gets too busy.

Guided tours for groups are possible. One guide for every 15 participants.
